Winning Corolla also an ARC lightweight

Harry Bates’ winning Toyota Corolla S2000 was the car nearest to the minimum allowed weight at last weekend’s Eureka Rally.

The next closest was Tony Sullens Subaru WRX (minimum allowed 1230kg, +57kg), followed by the Heat 2-winning Peugeot 208 Maxi of Eli Evans, +73kg.

Interestingly, Molly Taylor’s new PRC-spec Subaru was 187kg above the minimum weight of 1230kg, while Marcus Walkem’s Subaru was +204kg, and Nathan Quinn’s Lancer Evo IX a beefy 1453kg, or +223kg.

The lightest car in the ARC field was Luke Sytema’s Ford Escort at just 1059kg, but still 147kg above its minimum weight of 912kg.
